Welcome to Union County Public Library & Evergreen Indiana

 

Evergreen Indiana is an On-Line Catalog System that is a portal to a NEW Indiana Public Library Consortium. This will give you, our patrons, access to materials at participating libraries throughout the state. As additional libraries join the EVERGREEN INDIANA CONSORTIUM, they will share the same on-line catalog, circulation policies and material.

Evergreen Indiana Cards

The "new" cards will grant you, the patron,  access to any Library within the Evergreen Indiana Consortium.  To receive a card you must be a Resident of Union County or own property and pay Union County Property Tax:

Have Photo ID that shows current local address includes the following:

Valid state driver’s license or ID card

Valid Federal or State United States Government issued ID

Valid college or university ID

If Photo ID does not have current local address, we need one of the following items and photo ID:

Valid voter registration card

Computer generated bank statement or government notification issued in applicant’s name & current address within last 60 days

Computer generated utility, credit card company, doctor or hospital bill, issued in applicant’s name & current address within last 60 days

Change of address confirmation from the United States Postal Service showing prior and current address

of residence

Property tax receipt issued in applicant’s name

Evergreen cards must be presented at time of checkout or computer use!

Borrowing from outside of your home library with Evergreen Indiana

 Material maybe put on hold from the Evergreen Indiana on-line catalog. Material is then sent to UCPL for you, the patron, to enjoy. Patrons may not borrow new items from any library except UCPL for 6 months.

DVDs and VHS material may not be placed on hold. You may, however, visit any Evergreen Indiana library and check out a DVD or a VHS movie in person.

Fines and Grace Period

 

There will only be a ONE DAY grace period before items are due.

Fines will be accrued on the second day at a rate of 25¢ per day.

 

 

Reasons you may be blocked from checking out items.

 

1. You have 15 or more items overdue on your library card from any Evergreen Indiana Library.

2. You have fines totaling $10 or more from any Evergreen Indiana Library.

3. Your Library card has reached the maximum number of items checked out ffrom any Evergreen Indiana Library.

 

 
Reasons you may be blocked from placing a hold  

1) You have the maximum items on hold. Patrons may have up to 20 unfilled holds in the system at one time.

2) The Material is a VHS / DVD

3) New Material or on the Bestseller list, therefore it does not circulate outside it's home library

4) The items does not circulate in it's home library such as reference.

 
Keeping your contact information current

 

By providing your library with a current e-mail address you will receive notices 1) Three days prior to items being due  2) Notice the day an items is due  3) Notices of Overdue items

We will also contact you via e-mail when items on hold are available.
