Drook aka East Cemetery is located on the eastern side of Liberty. It was the first city cemetery. There is a drive off of US 27 almost across from Dollar General Store. It is best if you park at the end and walk down the drive as there is not way to turn around in the cemetery. It is mowed fairly well, but there are quite a few stones that are down. This cemetery is the final resting place for Edghill Burnside and his family. He was the father of Civil War General Ambrose Burnside. |
